THE ANTICHRIST VERSUS THE ANOINTING
The word "Christ" means "anointed" or "to anoint." After Jesus received baptism by water, He received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Luke 3:21 & 22. Jesus told the disciples that they too were to receive the Holy Ghost. John 14:26 This took place at Pentecost in a greater measure than they had previously received, because it came with "fire". Acts 2:1-6. John 20:22 was as a few drops as compared to the plentiful shower given on the day of Pentecost. As you read onward in the book of Acts you will find other times shown there when believers were "filled" with the Holy Ghost or it "fell" on them.
This particular study primarily deals with those who DID NOT receive the Holy Ghost as "antichrist," IN CONTRAST to those who DID receive the Holy Ghost as the "anointed" ones. There are other applications of the word "antichrist." It applies to any one who tries to put themselves "in the place of" Christ, or who is "against" Christ. These applications are not directly addressed in this study. But as time allows, we will look into these other applications in future studies.
